Head of Talent Development

Overview 

Stax recently announced a strategic investment by Blue Point Capital Partners which will fuel a new chapter of growth in key areas across the firm including expanding our Talent Development efforts. The Head of Talent Development will be responsible for developing and executing learning curriculums, content, and learning infrastructure across the organization globally. In addition, the role oversees the feedback process and formal reviews as well as the overall performance development philosophy and process. The ideal candidate has proven experience curating training and development programs from scratch and will know what it takes to improve upon existing programs. The role reports to Global Head of People and is currently supported by two professionals. This individual will need to be present in one of our US offices (Boston, New York, Chicago) at least 3 days per week with travel to other locations.  

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL ENJOY DOING

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop multi-year comprehensive learning curriculums for all career levels at Stax across the full spectrum of competencies to enable everyone at Stax to realize their growth in the organization.
  • Develop learning content by partnering with external provides, building own courses leveraging available resources, and collaborating with other parts of the organization to support development of technical skills, client management skills, people management, project management skills, etc. Training programs must consider diversity of learning styles, cultural differences, time zones, and workload demands.
  • Develop and manage an entry level hire onboarding program / bootcamp and the experienced hire onboarding program.
  • Collaborate with key operations partners and business stakeholders to identify learning needs and create targeted solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Utilize metrics and data analytics to measure the effectiveness and impact of L&D initiatives, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Plan and execute annual firm-wide offsite and leadership meetings (with additional resources such as EAs for logistics planning support).
  • Oversee performance development philosophy: ongoing feedback, formal review processes and ongoing enhancements to the competency model to ensure alignment with the strategic objectives for Stax.
  • Stay on top of thought leadership and innovative techniques in adult learning, virtual learning, and leverage leading practices at Stax.
  • Manage annual training and offsites budget and key vendor relationships.
Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

 

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline.
  • Proven track record in a leadership role within Learning & Development, preferably in the professional services. Client-facing consulting experience is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to produce results partnering with delivery professionals and cross-functional partners across the organization.
  • Expertise in instructional design, designing and implementing learning curriculums & programs, technical skill development programs, leadership development programs, and induction/onboarding programs.
  • Learning enthusiast with track record of leveraging innovative training delivery and adult learning methods.
  • Experience introducing enhancements to performance development processes and overseeing formal performance cycles.

Compensation: 130-150K USD + 20% target annual bonus + eligibility for long-term incentive plan. Stax operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy, and total annual cash compensation may vary based on firm and individual performance.
