Our client is a privately held growing, financially stable, leading New York-area government contractor. Our client’s focus is in providing Information Technology (IT) and Construction services for city, state and federal government clients.

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Head of Business Development and IT Infrastructure Services to lead the IT infrastructure service organization and evolve and expand the company’s IT services offering. Reporting to the company CEO, the position is responsible for ensuring that the company’s IT infrastructure is operationally sound and remains leading and secure.

 

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant IT experience with 5+ years of IT leadership experience. Prior experience managing large scale projects, teams and customers. The successful candidate must possess excellent IT technical knowledge, effective communication skills, and an understanding of government contracting.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Business Development

  • Develop new business opportunities, primarily in New York City Metro Area.
  • Understand client needs and requirements to position services as a solution to meet those needs.
  • Grow and expand the existing customer base.
  • Prepare, review and deliver proposals, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), Master Service Agreements (MSA), Statements of Work (SOW) and other documentation to clients or prospects.

 

IT Infrastructure Management and Strategy

  • Manage and oversee technical IT resources to understand and create solutions that best meet customer needs.
  • Lead and oversee the identification, analysis, and implementation of solutions for opportunities for enhancements to the organization’s information systems, including hardware, software, network infrastructure, and network security.
  • Oversee all operations within the IT Infrastructure Department to maximize internal productivity, services, and network security.
  • Ensure the IT Infrastructure Department maintains comprehensive documentation regarding network users, equipment/machines, system procedures, and policies.
  • Provide management and oversight to employees within the IT Infrastructure Department. Communicate and interact with all team members, subcontractors and suppliers in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate with Executive Management and business leaders to identify and implement technology-based solutions for strategic and operational objectives.
  • Provide recommendations for hardware and software upgrades, as appropriate, to further improve operations and enhance value.

 

Customer Management

  • Consistently engage with clients in maintaining relationships to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Host quarterly business reviews with clients working to incorporate further services.
  • Periodically travel to client sites to assess projects, perform work or participate in meetings with clients, subcontractors and project team members.
  • Perform Profit and loss management.

 

Procurement

  • Lead the evaluation of purchased IT resources and associated vendors, including negotiating contracts for services, and facilitate the successful implementation of new technologies.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or closely related field, required. Master’s Degree in IT or related field, preferred.
  • Advanced certification in IT.
  • 10+ years of relevant professional IT experience and 5+ years in an IT leadership role.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation communication skills with team members, technical staff, management, clients, contractors and suppliers. Able to interface, communicate and build relationships with team members and all levels of management on an ongoing basis and work as a trusted technology professional.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong understanding of the latest, best-in-class technologies and protocols critical for hardware, software, network infrastructure, and network security (including encryption and authentication technologies). Demonstrated experience with Cloud solutions.
  • Understanding of government contracting practices, processes and standards.

  • Must be able to pass a required background check and/or security clearance to work on government projects.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. The company will not sponsor individuals for employment visas for this job at this time.

 

POSITION LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Office-based role in New York, NY. Must be able to commute daily into New York City and travel within the greater New York, NY metro area for site visits, meetings with team members, subcontractors and clients. Minimal overnight travel required.

 

TEAM RESPONSIBILITY:

Serve as the leader of the IT Infrastructure team. Collaborate with internal and external colleagues and mentor, lead and manage team members.

  • Company CEO
  • Internal Team Members (Project Managers, System Admins, Network Engineers, Technicians
  • External Partners (Subcontractors, Clients, Suppliers and Partners)

 

RELOCATION ELIGIBILITY:
No relocation assistance provided. Local, qualified New York City metro area candidates will be given preference and priority. Qualified candidates willing to self-relocate to the New York City metro area will also be considered.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS INFORMATION:

  • Base Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
  • Variable Pay: Results-based performance bonus.
  • Benefits Include: Health & Dental Insurance, Paid Time Off, 401-K, FSA, Company Paid Training, etc.
