Job Description Summary
Head JV Coach is responsible for working with the Head Coach in all aspects of program operations, practice planning, game planning and scheduling of contests. Individual must have an understanding of all pertinent NCAA rules governing the sport. Must have a commitment to the Division III philosophy and be able to work within the philosophy and mission of the Athletics Department.
Essential Functions
Individual will be required to maintain positive relationships with the Head Coach, administration and team members, and provide an atmosphere of learning and development in all areas assigned. Also is responsible to teach various skill sets and techniques in practice every day. Individual will be responsible for team decisions and actions including practice sessions and team travel.
Required Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree. Must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License.
Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills
Master’s degree is preferred; however, a combination of education and experience will be considered. Playing experience is desired. Some coaching experience at the high school or college level is preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will oversee select student-athletes.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit, stand and walk. This position requires candidates to be able to demonstrate skills on the field.
