I. ROLE SUMMARY
The responsibilities of the Long Island Nets' Head Athletic Trainer include, without limitation, collaborating with the Long Island Nets' physicians regarding, and overseeing, the provision of preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions for the Long Island Nets' players. The Head Athletic Trainer shall be subject to the direction and supervision of the Long Island Nets' General Manager or such other person(s) as may be designated by the Club with respect to the duties and responsibilities described above and such additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to the Head Athletic Trainer. The Head Athletic Trainer shall perform all required duties and responsibilities in a manner satisfactory to the Long Island Nets' General Manager.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include, without limitation, the following:
Prevent, recognize, and rehabilitate player injuries;
Organize entry and exit physicals;
Coordinate imaging and other medical visits as needed
Coordinate physician coverage for all home games;
Maintain supplies inventory and order supplies as needed for training room and travel;
Maintain medical records for players in G-league EMR
Maintain, update and apply practice and arena emergency action plans as needed
Deal with Worker's Compensation insurance claims, filings, and other issues;
Assist equipment manager with ordering, distributing, and collecting all equipment necessary
Coordinate practice sites and times; and
Manage projects as assigned by the Long Island Nets' General Manager.
Oversee and manage a student AT or PT (if applicable)
Oversee and manage massage therapy services

IV. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Credentials
- Must be certified as an Athletic Trainer through the BOC
- Must be licensed as an Athletic Trainer in the state of NY
- Doctorate of physical therapy
Experience
- Must have experience as an Athletic Trainer in collegiate or other professional sports settings
V. WORKING CONDITIONS
A. Travel Requirements
Frequent Traveler (25-50% travel): The incumbent travels on a regular basis as required by the game schedule. Trips may require air travel and overnight stays away from home for one or more nights.
B. Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Salary Range
$90,000 - $105,000

5 Key Responsibilities
- Daily reporting of player availability, readiness and any practice modifications to LI Nets Coaching and Front Office staff
- Lead acute care coverage of practices and games, acute injury management, acute illness management and concussion screenings, and be the primary point of contact for Head Coach during games for injuries.
- Risk management: maintain medical records for players in League EMR; deal with Worker's Compensation insurance claims, filings, and other issues; maintain, update, and apply practice and arena emergency action plans as needed; and ensure local networks available to support the team medically on the road (imaging, opposing team medical team members)
- Organize all physicals, pre-participation exams and exit packs.
- Be available to be actively involved in Brooklyn Nets related activity - including (but not limited to) 2-way player health and injury status, reporting on any other assigned players to G-League, Brooklyn Nets Draft Workouts, NBA Combine and Summer League
People and Services
- Mentoring and joint management (with Jon Filipe) responsibility of LI Nets Asst ATC
- Management of the Soft Tissue Therapy staff member
- Co-ordination of Clinical Psychology resources and Mental Performance practitioner rota
- Co-ordination of game day support technicians and local on-call services (e.g., dental)
