FlexStaff is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist to join this amazing team and provide speech and language assessment and therapy services to students in accordance with their Individualized Family Service Plans, Individual Education Plans, or Interim Individual Education Plans. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments and evaluations to determine students' developmental levels and needs.
Analyze test results and prepare written summaries for regulatory and oversight organizations, such as Early Intervention, CPSE, and CSE.
Plan and implement speech and language interventions aligned with established goals.
Administer testing procedures to assess and monitor student progress, providing written reports to EI/CPSE/CSE.
Assess oral motor development and the ability to intake food orally and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Stay up to date with the latest alternative communication techniques and implement the appropriate use of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices.
Provide in-service training on AAC devices and techniques.
Maintain accurate attendance records and progress notes.
Share therapy progress reports with parents/guardians and team members, maintaining regular communication.
Actively participate in team meetings and case conferences as required.
Ensure that individuals receive services appropriate to their needs and consistent with educational goals and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the Initial Evaluation and Intake processes.
Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide supervision to students and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates as assigned.
Perform other related duties as requested.
A Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
Preferably one year of prior Speech Therapy experience.
Current NY State license in Speech and Language Pathology.
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency.
NYSED Certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hard of Hearing (TSHH) is mandatory.
For Bilingual Therapists: NYSED TSSH Certification with Bilingual Extension.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
Proficiency in the use of personal computers and electronic devices.
Knowledge of Assistive Technology, Augmentative Communication, Picture Exchange Communication, and manual sign language is preferred.
Ability to provide therapeutic intervention in school programs or the homes of students served.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Education/License/Certification:
Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
One year of prior Speech Therapy experience preferred.
Current NY State license in Speech and Language Pathology.
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency required.
NYSED Certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hard of Hearing (TSHH) is mandated.
For Bilingual Therapist: NYSED TSSH Certification with Bilingual Extension.
