The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation, Arts and Cultural Heritage Division, Harmony Hall Arts Center, is seeking Summer Camp Counselors to assist with their Summer Camp day program for school-age participants.
Harmony Hall Arts Center is a multifaceted arts facility offering in-depth programs for all ages. Whether it's arts and crafts, ceramics, sculpture, dance, drama, painting, performing arts or photography, Harmony Hall provides space for creative passions. In addition, Harmony Hall Arts Center houses the John Addison Concert Hall offering a variety of entertainment experiences to the public including exhibitions of local, national and international artists in our exhibition spaces. Harmony Hall Arts Center is located at 10701 Livingston Road; Fort Washington, MD.
This position pays at a rate of $15.25 per hour to $15.50 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
Examples of Important Duties
Candidates will serve as Assistants/Aides to the Camp Directors for visual or performing arts camps.
Duties include:
- Assisting campers in the execution of visual arts/ performing arts projects,
- Accompanying and monitoring campers on all field trips,
- Maintaining order in and between classes,
- Monitoring campers during breaks and meals,
- Monitoring campers during before and after care, and
- Ensuring the safety of campers at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must:
- Be age 18 or older.
- Have an interest in the visual and/or performing arts.
- Be comfortable working with children from ages 7 to 17 years old, and
- Attend and complete all M-NCPPC mandatory trainings.
- Adhere to all Youth Camp Standard requirements.
Supplemental Information
Positions are Seasonal/part-time and do not include a benefits package.
A complete background investigation will be completed prior to hire.

Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees
Health Insurance Plans
You are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period.
If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.
Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
