SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a software company seeking an experienced Hardware Engineerto join their facility in either Portland or Hood River, Oregon. This company is a leader in their field and provides advanced onboard video processors for various camera systems and applications.

Primary Function:
Based in the Portland office, the role will be to work with our existing hardware group on continuously improving our existing products and new product development. An ideal candidate is looking for a chance to work to find solutions to challenging image processing problems.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
- Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout of small boards
- Sustaining Engineering support on existing circuit boards
- Implement new circuit boards.
- Work on embedded video processors used in security and surveillance products (autonomous, airborne, ground, and other applications).
- Assist in the high-level design and specification of new systems.
- Directly support customers.
- Work collaboratively with Director of HW Engineering, the business development group, and your team to craft development plans in support of product roadmaps.
- Rapidly develop new skills.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (preferred electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or other relevant degree).
- 3+ years demonstrated experience working in Hardware Engineering.
- Strong use of schematic entry and PCB layout tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
Beneficial Experience(preferred, not required)
- Write microcontroller code and corresponding documentation.
- FPGA experience.
- 2-4 years’ experience working specifically on embedded systems.
- Worked with or implemented embedded hardware drivers.
Work Environment:
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers.
