The Engineering Intern at our Guide Bar plant will be involved in the following projects:
Create and digitize work instructions on our selected digital learning platform (Dozuki) for the listed equipment in the Guide Bar Department:
- Metal Stamping
- Welding /Hardening
- U-Star Assembly
- Spot Welding
- Painting/Packing
- Digital Printing
- Identify other missing documentation along with 3D models and drawings of spare parts while developing work instructions for these machines.
- Develop 3D models and 2D drawing of these parts which are not in DB works for these machines and properly file them and all reference documents into DB works. Most of the spare part documents we have are in Adobe PDF format only and filed in different locations for different machines. The most critical spare parts must be modeled and redrawn from the 2D in order to make spare parts locally. A number of the machines have only assembly drawings. The critical spare parts will need to measured to develop the models and drawings of these parts. Then they can be made here instead of purchasing from an OEM supplier. The parts will then need quoted by multiple sources to develop the recommendation for the most cost effective solution for these parts.
- Become familiar with the individual equipment and production processes in the Guide Bar Plant to be able to create detailed work instructions.
- Work closely with Engineering, Process Technicians and Machine Operators to receive detailed information and learn machine functions and processes.
- Learn and use our selected digital work instruction platform (Dozuki) to create, modify and/or transfer current non-Dozuki instructions with the use of different media such as pictures and videos.
- After completion, work through digitalized instructions step by step with production personnel to audit and verify results.
- Develop and/or apply Solid Works training to develop 3d models with 2d drawings. Learn how to file the models, drawings and documentation into DB works to get all the documentation in one place.
- Identify the best solution for manufacturing of the spare parts and tooling for these machines by comparing the quoted costs with the OEM costs in SAP.
