Raytheon Technologies (RTX) is seeking a Systems Infrastructure Engineering intern to join our distinguished team to support development, implementation, deployment and maintenance of state-of-the-art systems for unique customer missions. These systems will collect, process and disseminate intelligence and other data about specific areas/targets of interest in support of our national defense.
Candidates will be supporting a distributed automated platform for compute, network and storage infrastructure by providing custom automation services for feature deployment in a large high performance environment leveraging both cloud and traditional data center technologies.
This position is an onsite role.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. - Support infrastructure/DevOps build and automation activities utilizing programming/scripting skills (Ruby, Python, Go, PowerShell, and Java) and continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Provide basic support in the development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment, or subsystem level), external and internal interfaces, and other systems engineering work products/artifacts
- Integrate multiple software and hardware subsystems
- Apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to solve problems
This position can be a technical intern based on the candidate's classification as determined by grad year on resume and provided via questionnaire by candidate as outlined below:
- (Sophomore Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program
- (Junior Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program
- (Senior Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program
- (Post-Graduate Technical) must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Post Graduate by the start of summer 2024 in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field
- Experience with programming concepts and development/scripting skills such as: Ruby, Python, Go, PowerShell OR Java
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Linux or Windows Operating Systems and working with the Command Line Interface (CLI
- Experience with modernization technologies such as: Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, AWS, Azure
- Experience with Cloud APIs - AWS, Rackspace, Openstack
- Experience with Chef Configuration Management tool
- Understanding or knowledge of DevOps processes.
- Exposure of integration of software and hardware subsystems such as: Networks, Data Storage.
- Exposure to security engineering concepts and practices
- Exposure to the software development life cycle
