Job Summary
The Guest Services Representative will provide memorable experiences guests visiting the NASCAR Hall of Fame. With a focus on evenings and weekends they will enhance the learning experiences of guests by supporting the facilitation of exploration of the museum for on-site visits. The Guest Services Associate assists in facilitating family and adult programs such as team builds or other public programs.
Job Responsibilities
- Essential Job Duties
- Provides all guests with exceptional customer experience including day guests, members, groups, public programming, or events
- Assists guests in all museum areas providing directional guidance, gallery tours, NASCAR knowledge and guidance on using a variety of exhibit interactives including but not limited to qualifying, simulators and pit challenge
- Maintains ongoing knowledge of exhibits, NASCAR history and stays abreast of updates in the building
- Staffs internal and external events as needed including facilitating interactives, giving tours, and providing logistics support. This includes working NASCAR related events including but not limited to, Charlotte Race Weekends, NHOF Induction Weekend, and team announcements. These events may require hours outside of normal NHOF hours open to the public.
- Assists with supporting educational programs but not limited to public programs events, team builds, school groups and camp programs including preparing supplies and materials, providing logistical support, assisting with hands-on activities, and setting up space and clean up after activities
- Monitors building to ensure cleanliness and guest safety
- Performs regular checks during shift of equipment and exhibits to ensure proper operation
- Assists in management of crowd flow to maintain efficient guest movement throughout the building
- Monitors inventory of educational supplies and materials
- May perform other duties as assigned

Scope of Responsibility
- Work with guests of all ages including day guests, groups, and event attendees
- Work with large number of individuals (upwards of 100 plus) at one time
- Work with adults and families in group settings
Supervisory Responsibility
- There is no supervisory responsibility

- Ability to anticipate customer needs, build positive relationships, go the extra mile to satisfy and exceed customer needs.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructional materials and background information
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups: clients, customers, managers, and the general public
- Displays a positive, engaging attitude
Education and Experience
- Prior success in the delivery of quality customer service
- Must be creative and resourceful in solving problems
- Must enjoy working with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds
- Additional knowledge of NASCAR and motorsports is beneficial
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 6 hours at a time
- Must be comfortable with and able to climb and descend stairs
- Must be able to push carts up ramps (weight of 40 -50 lbs.)
- Must be able to lift 35-40 lbs.
Work Environment
- The work environment can be high paced and intense for 3-4 hours at a time
- Requires ability to adapt to various guest age groups
- The noise level may vary dependent on the activity of the building
- Ability to work flexible schedule and varying hours; including weekends and evenings is required
- Ability to work high visitation days, including but not limited to holidays, race weekends and induction
