Description
Lockport Operations is in the process of seeking qualified applicants for a GSC Raw Metal Analyst. This is a 6th level position.
As a member of the Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for supporting the key area of raw metals. You will also be a member of manufacturing/warehouse operations, supply chain systems and processes, launch execution and scheduling and material management.
You will act as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, warehousing/manufacturing, logistics and suppliers to resolve issues and to provide support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Executes deliverables in support of the supply chain organization's business objectives. Guides one of the key areas within the Global Supply Chain to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product and financial initiatives.
Regular duties include:
- Ability to understand and assess complex supply chain issues relating to raw metal.
- Assess metal supplier schedules and impact on vehicle component assembly production.
- Ability to summarize critical issues, propose resolutions and communicate to leadership.
- Handle very complex capacity constraint issues to resolution with the goal of preventing potential plant disruptions and reduce premium transportation costs.
- Communicate daily metal pulls to our warehouse and follow-up to ensure accuracy.
- Compile and communicate metal forecasts to multiple suppliers on a monthly basis.
- Compile and communicate weekly internal and customer requirements for internal press operations.
This position communicates to all levels of the organization. Within the GSC function as well as other functions and suppliers. Position is responsible for supporting a strong relationship between Suppliers, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing.
- Maintain formal documentation of metal inventory levels
- Collaboration with GSC Leadership on Strategic Initiatives and Continuous Improvement
- Provide input on material flow & logistics solutions
- Daily metal min/max floor walks

REQUIRED/SUGGESTED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Onsite: This position requires to work on site on a full-time basis
- 4 year degree in Business Management is suggested
- Strong Excel skills are required
- Knowledge of Corporate tools and processes is suggested
- Key Skills: SAP, Problem solving, teamwork, personnel management.
- May require some off shift/weekend coverage
