Grinder Operator–MultipleOpenings for Day Shift
Commercial Employees is hiring several Grinder Operator / CNC Machine Operator positions in the Penn Hills area of Pittsburgh. You will be working with a team that provides premium-quality aluminum engineered components and solutions worldwide, including aluminum casting and extrusion, and precision CNC machining. With an initial starting pay between $15 to $19 per hour, these full-time contract positions are targeted to convert to regular employment. Weekly pay is provided, and benefits are available both before and after conversion.

- Setup, program and operate computer-controlled CNC lathe (Vertical or Horizontal)
- Execute precision grinding operations to ensure high product quality
- Perform ongoing inspections to ensure that required high quality standards are maintained
- Use micrometers and other measuring tools to assist in quality inspections
- Adhere to all Quality and QA policies and procedures
- Report issues which may result in poor quality to Production Supervisor
- Follow all Safety procedures and requirements in all operations
Grinder / CNC Operator Requirements:
- At least three years of machining / machine operator experience preferred but willing to train the right candidates
- CNC / lathe experience is helpful
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Good at math with analytical abilities
- Physical stamina and strength to regularly lift and move up to 30 pounds
- High School diploma or equivalent; Vocational Training or an Apprenticeship is an asset
- Closed toe and slip resistant shoes, long pants and shirt are all required in order to ensure safety
Pay and Benefits for our Grinder / CNC Operator Positions:
- Starting hourly wage of $15, with overtime available
- Monday through Friday, first shift, 7:30am to 4:00pm
- These positions will be hired by the union in 60 Days
