SalarySuperior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring a Cylindrical Grinder Operator for our operation in New Castle, PA. The Grinder Operator is a member of our Machining Department responsible for running a grinding machine to machine our forged steel rolls.
Competitive: wage $21.50-$25.50/hr commensurate with experience, benefit/insurance package, 8 paid holidays, 401K, Paid Time Off (PTO), Additional Paid Relief Days, $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS, and this position is eligible for the Production Incentive Program.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operation of grinder
- Reviewing and interpreting blueprints
- Grinding rolls to blueprint specification
- Preventative maintenance
- Keep complete and accurate production records
- Verify work assignments
- Maintain production requirements and specified tolerances
- Perform other department duties, as assigned
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
- Must be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs occasionally throughout shift
- Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
- Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous machining experience required
- Previous experience operating manufacturing equipment and/or heavy machinery required
- Must be able to read/interpret blueprints
- Proficient in micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
- Good math skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Verifiable employment history
Must be able to pass criminal background check, drug screen and physical.
Classification: Hourly
