*THIS POSITION IS SEASONAL PART-TIME*

Work schedule will fluctuate up and down based on testing schedules. There may be assignments that last several weeks including OT, but upon completion may be breaks in employment until the next test assignment.

John Deere Greeneville operates on 1st and 2nd shifts. This posting will be used to fill openings on either shift, subject to facility needs at the time.

As aTest Equipment Operator (Part-Time)with John Deere in Greeneville, TN, you will:

Have the opportunity to test and evaluate new prototype and experimental equipment not yet available to the public. Setup and operate riding lawn equipment in a test facility focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:

• Follow instructions for operation and tests to be performed on experimental units.
• Setup and operate riding lawn equipment, attachments, tractors, or grounds care and recreation products.
• Perform equipment field tests exactly per the prescribed test patterns and protocols.
• Observe unit being operated for performance and take rigorous notes on any positive features, abnormalities, or failures as they occur.
• Make ordinary field adjustments to units and related equipment being tested.
• May assist mechanics when not performing tests.
• Lubricate, check, and clean work equipment and tooling.
• Assist and support other team members.
• Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
• Operating conditions:
  • Testing is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions and temperatures except for lightening and severe weather emergencies.
  • Subjected to outdoor allergens such as cut grass, pollen and stinging insects.
  • Prolonged operation of equipment on bumpy terrain.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have at least one of the following:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
• At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
• Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Ability and willingness to work potential overtime (including weekends).
