Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
As the IT Intern - Green IT/Sustainability, you'll be a key player in driving the Green IT sustainable transformation under the guidance of our CIO staff. Your role will involve[CA1] :
- Data for Change: Assist in collecting IT energy and emissions data, contributing to reducing our IT carbon footprint.
- Success in Numbers: Define and measure success metrics while closely monitoring progress towards sustainability goals.
- Spread the Green Vibes: Build awareness and conduct training on sustainability, with a focus on Green IT.
- Reduce our Infrastructure Carbon Footprint: This may include projects such as:
- Research opportunities to reduce environmental impact and provide solutions to IT resources
- Design and test solutions to reduce end user device carbon emissions
- Research end-user device inventory management system with an integrated sustainability metric
- Define and implement sustainable procurement criteria within the IT supply chain
- Improve process efficiencies related to IT Asset Disposal to optimize circular business
- Investigate and advance best sustainability practices within the organization
- Global Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with TRATON brands on Green IT best practices and initiatives.

Minimum Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B or F-1 status)
Desired Skills
- At least Sophomore standing for undergrad at the time of application
- Able to work at least 12 weeks (starting the end of May or early June through August)
- Previous applicable internships
- Self-starter
- High level of computer skills (Microsoft Applications and Internet)
