SUMMARY

The Graphic Designer/ Video Editor will provide project support to a Federal client. Creates and conceptualizes graphics, illustrations, typography, layouts, logos, animations, collateral, and other branding assets for educational and training purposes. Experience in design for a wide range of audiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assists senior team members in communicating with client constituents, facilitating the identification and resolution of problems, assisting with logical analysis, ensuring consistency of graphics and branding, providing input on training modules, program documents, research materials, and communications deliverables, and handling support requests.

Prepares visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts.

Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials.

Maintains brand standards in print and digital design assets.

Plans concepts by studying information and materials.

Illustrates concepts by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.

Designs collateral materials, including memos, strategic plans, newsletters, flyers, invitations, websites and other collateral as needed.

Follows creative direction and style for current and new projects.

Participates in team discussions and meetings.

Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.

Prepares press ready files to send to printer.

Collaborates with team members in brainstorming for marketing and advertising strategies.

Edits and assembles raw video footage into polished, visually compelling video productions.

Works closely with other team members to develop concepts, storylines, and overall video production strategy.

Cuts, splices, and synchronizes video and audio clips, apply transitions, titles, sound effects, and color corrections.

Selects and adds appropriate music and sound effects to videos.

Creates and implements graphics and special effects in video.

Collaborates with the team to develop video marketing strategies that meet clients' needs.

Maintains high quality and accuracy in all aspects of the video production process.

Manages, organizes, and maintains production files and video libraries.

Updates/edits video content in response to feedback from clients, colleagues, or as needed.

Meets tight deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATION

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Skilled proficiency of Adobe Creative Suite.

Strong working knowledge and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Plan.

Strong knowledge and experience with various video editing software including Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Avid Media Composer.

Proficient in the use of editing, graphic, and special effects video software.

Skilled proficiency in collecting, compiling, analyzing, and presenting data.

Preferred experience in both print and digital production.

Working knowledge of Section 508 and Universal Design standards.

Ability to present clear ideas and designs.

Ability to translate and interpret an idea visually.

Able to communicate project status with manager and senior team leader.

Skilled in facilitating teamwork and coordinating efforts for the successful achievement of goals.

Excellent collaborative skills with ability to resolve conflicts, grievances, confrontations, or disagreements in a constructive manner.

Exceptional organization skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
