Passionate about health justice and access to care for everyone? Is grant writing in your wheelhouse?
We invite you to learn more about our mission to impact the lives of people in our community who cannot afford basic dental services that most of us take for granted!
Hope Dental Clinic (HDC) is a nonprofit community dental clinic that serves individuals & families who fall through other safety nets. Our services are reserved for those who are low-income, uninsured and without the ability to pay. Untreated dental problems that are painful and/or unsightly can profoundly impact an individual’s life – affecting the most basic needs of life, such as eating, sleeping, working, smiling, and engaging in community. Although it should be part of their primary care, many individuals come to us long overdue for treatment (not to mention prevention), and often at risk for other health complications. HDC employs a volunteer-based model and operates as a training site for dental professionals and clinic management. This model allows HDC to leverage the time & skills of private practitioners and students advancing their training to serve those in need.
The Hope DentalTeam is looking for a self-motivated, skilled Grant Writer to join us. Our free dental services are funded solely by our donors and foundation grants, making this a critical position in our organization.
We offer a high degree of flexibility in your schedule to allow you to achieve the work-life balance you need. Part-time or full-time options are available with hybrid or remote office opportunities. Benefits are prorated as part of a competitive compensation package; salary commensurate with experience.
While a bachelor’s degree is preferred, we welcome your equivalent expertise & knowledge gained from other life experience. Demonstratable grant writing success is required, with healthcare or advocacy/experience working with diverse, underserved communities being a plus.
The Grant Writer Role is pivotal to ensuring the health and sustainability of the organization and its ability to fulfill its mission in conjunction with the Development Director. Responsibilities include:
> Initiate and maintain an annual grants calendar, monitoring progress and meeting all proposal & report deadlines.
> Prepare and submit grant letters, proposals and reporting requirements, including supporting documentation/budgets.
> Research and identify new foundation and government grant opportunities aligned with HDC’s mission.
> Develop and foster relationships with funders and stakeholders that will assist in achieving long term sustainability.
> Opportunities for communications and special project management are available in the full-time role.
We appreciate your consideration to determine if this opportunity is a fit for you.
