Grant Writer

Hello there!

I am looking for an awesome Grant Writer for my client- Jeremy Smith. He is on the board of two non- profits that support disaster relief efforts in the US and other countries. They have supported relief work in Florida, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Haiti, and many islands with over 2000 flights.

We currently have 4 aircraft that we use to support pilots flying for public benefit. (vpgair.org).

Work Location: Remote

Duties
- Research, identify, and evaluate potential funding opportunities from various sources
- Write and submit grant proposals, ensuring compliance with all requirements and deadlines
- Collaborate with program managers and staff to gather necessary information for grant applications
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization's programs and initiatives
- Conduct prospect research to identify new funding prospects and maintain a database of potential funders
- Prepare financial reports and budgets for grant proposals
- Edit and proofread grant proposals for clarity, coherence, and accuracy
- Maintain accurate records of all grants, including reporting requirements and deadlines

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Nonprofit Management)
- Proven experience in grant writing or a related field
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to write clear, concise, and compelling grant proposals
- Strong research skills to identify funding opportunities and gather relevant information
- Proficiency in using databases and other resources for prospect research
- Knowledge of technical writing principles and best practices
- Familiarity with fundraising software such as Raiser's Edge is a plus
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
- Strategic thinking and planning abilities to align grant proposals with organizational goals
- Experience in budgeting and financial report writing
