With a high client retention rate and ever-expanding network of nonprofit partners making referrals for our services, we are looking to expand our team and hire a Senior Grant Writer. The ideal candidate is a grant professional with a minimum of 2 years of full-time experience grant writing and a passion for writing, the nonprofit sector, and fund development. Our writers and consultants work remotely and receive competitive salaries with benefits and flexible work schedules.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of full-time experience grant writing required
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Highly organized with impeccable time management and prioritization skills, including the ability to track details and competing priorities, work independently, and produce a quality work product
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with P2P team and clients
- Adaptability, flexibility, and desire to jump in and take initiative on projects
- Desire to become a dedicated member of the Pen to Paper team, including attending team meetings, Professional Development opportunities, and completing all other staff responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (experience with Google Suite preferred)
- Experience working with Project Management Software/Tools preferred
Previous experience will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of grant proposal and preparation skills; knowledge of effective grant prospect research practices; the ability to distinguish and identify funding opportunities; and working knowledge of grant application/proposal preparation best-practices.
Responsibilities
The Senior Grant Writer is a full-time remote position (minimum of 35+ hrs./week with benefits) reporting to Pen to Paper’s Grant Consultant. Southern California/California residents are preferred. The Senior Grant Writer should be able to execute the following responsibilities, with moderate support from senior staff:
- Draft and prepare competitive Letters of Inquiry, grant applications, and grant reports, generating original content as well as repurposing existing content to meet funder identified guidelines and/or P2P internal protocols
- Coordinate and participate in meetings/calls and direct communication with P2P clients and program staff to: (1) obtain information necessary to draft compelling solicitations and reports; (2) track grant solicitation and reporting projects; and (3) assist with the development and execution cultivation strategies from inception to completion
- Research, identify, and respond to grant opportunities for P2P clients
- Assess client documentation, systems, and processes to identify areas of concern and make recommendations regarding funding opportunities with minimal oversight and guidance from P2P Leadership Team
- Perform administrative work related to tracking, maintaining, and updating project management database and client records
- Work in collaboration with other P2P team members to ensure successful preparation and submission of grant application/reporting projects as well as donor cultivation strategies, and client communication strategies
Compensation
Position is full time (35+ hrs./week) paid hourly at a rate of $32.00-$38.00/hr. (approx. $58,500-$69,000 annually) + benefits.
