CLS is currently searching for a service-minded, mission driven individual to fill the following position:

Grant Coordinator

OVERVIEW

The Grant Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the pre-award planning, organization, preparation, and the post-award administration/management of various grants assigned. Grants will vary among multiple grantors, reporting requirements, and responsible units/departments at CLS. Effective and clear communication skills are key to facilitating interactions with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and policy requirements. Provides guidance and support to staff in the identification and development of grant opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provides day-to-day coordination for grants administration, including preparing and processing of reports and contracts for awarded grants.
  2. Tracks reporting schedules, issuing reminders to the Manager of Grants on the status of reports that are outstanding and/or due in the future.
  3. Organizes all electronic grant files in accordance with the Grants Department policy and procedures.
  4. Coordinates internal and external meetings with stakeholders, which includes creating agendas, note-taking, and preparing official minutes for meetings.
  5. Completes special projects as designated by the Manager of Grants and/or Senior Leadership.
  6. Supports Manager of Grants with administrative tasks related to compliance, generating grant documents, and maintenance of electronic filing system.
  7. Contributes to effective grant proposals and grant reports based on the organizational requirements.
  8. Assists with researching various types of grants available, reviewing opportunities for eligibility criteria and firm priority needs.
  9. Assists with coordination of the planning and preparation of grant proposals for units/ departments; provide guidance and assistance to administration in the interpretation of funding agency regulations and requirements.
  10. Serve as a liaison between staff and finance in the budgeting and preparation of grant proposals; research grantor and CLS requirements to assist finance with budget justifications.
  11. Prepare and compile assigned components of each grant submission, ensuring the proposal is formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with granting agency requirements.
  12. Assist with maintenance of specialized databases and systems for recording and tracking grant proposals, awards, and related statistical information; create and distribute standard and special reports, studies, summaries, and analyses, as required.
  13. Develop and maintain a library of reference documentation, including such information as funding agency/grantor requirement and form, investigator profiles and curriculum vitae, abstracts and reference literature, and other pertinent material.
  14. Support the monitoring and coordination of the administration of post-award grants to ensure that budgeting and administrative policies, procedures, and agency requirements are being followed; manage administrative problems and/or budget changes occurring during the awarded granting period with oversight from CPO and collaboration with the Finance department.
  15. Responsible for the required reporting to the funders including coordinating both the programmatic reports with the financial reports through the finance department.
  16. Maintain knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures; disseminates and/or presents changes to departments and advises on the implementation of changes, and on the impact of changes on funded operations.
  17. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

2.  Background and Experience

  1. High school diploma or GED; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  2. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
  3. Ability to develop and produce grants and other proposals.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  5. Knowledge of current developments/trends in area of expertise.
  6. Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise and develop statistical analyses and reports.
  7. Database management skills.
  8. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  9. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections.
  10. Ability to provide technical advice and information to faculty and staff in area of expertise.
  11. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  12. Knowledge of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, federal and university regulations.
  13. Knowledge of federal, state and/or community funding sources and mechanisms.
  14. Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures.
  15. Ability to conduct literature searches.
  16. Knowledge of potential sources of health care contract and grant funding.
  17. Knowledge of grant-funded non-profit operations.
  18. Valid driver’s license, vehicle, and proof of auto insurance.

 

3Physical Requirements

a. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

b.  Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

 

Salary Range: $50,000-$52,000
