Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department, is accepting applications for a knowledgeable, experienced, and dedicated Graduate Research Assistant.
Under the direction of the Chief Psychologist, the Graduate Research Assistant assists in the performance of research using data from the DSH-Patton data warehouse, which will provide them with job experience in tasks related to their field of study. The graduate student assistant will assist with existing or budding research projects based on institutionally data-driven questions, as formed by the Medical Director or Chief Psychologist (or designee). This position does not require or include any direct patient contact or interaction. This position is part time, with a work week of approximately 15-20 hours per week.
Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate level Psychology program or related field (e.g., Sociology/Behavioral Science). The student Research Assistant should have advanced (graduate level) knowledge of statistical methods and research method design, managing databases in Excel and SPSS, performing statistical analyses, and reporting findings. The ideal candidate for this position will be a student enrolled in a local non-clinical graduate program with an emphasis on research.

Working Conditions
Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital and was established in 1890 and opened in 1893. DSH-Patton provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.
