Description of Job Duties
This position will support the Benefits and Wellness Specialist in implementing benefit and wellness initiatives for faculty and staff.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to integrate general management with strategic human resource management.
The Faculty and Staff Wellbeing Task Force was formed in March of 2022 by former President Troy Hammond in response to conversations around employee mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Task Force identified recommendations across seven domains designed to enhance the College's culture of care. Below are the identified domains to support a culture of wellbeing and care:

• Modeling & promoting self-care from leadership:
  • Create opportunities and messaging that support employee self-care
  • Promote a culture of care where discussions of mental health and wellness are
  • normalized, starting with modeling from leadership
• Rebuilding a sense of community:
  • Identify positive ways to bring the campus together, i.e., Social Team and Campus Coffee events
• Increasing expression of appreciation to promote feeling valued:
  • Promote employees' sense of feeling acknowledged, appreciated, and valued
  • Enhance the culture of care and positivity through meaningful ways
• Clarifying & enhancing workplace practices:
  • Create clear guidelines for employees to allow for efficient practices supporting well-being, flexibility and control
  • Encourage compassion for differences across departments
• Enhancing resources for those supporting campus community members in distress:
  • Provide additional training and resources to faculty and staff that work with individuals in distress
  • Encourage boundary-setting and self-care when working with distressed individuals
• Supporting the needs of working parents & caregivers:
  • Create a work environment that acknowledges and supports the unique need of working parents/caregivers
• Improving communication of existing resources:
  • Create a centralized location where employees can access well-being resources and provide consistent communication to employees to advertise resources

Job Qualifications
Admission into a graduate degree program at North Central College is required. Note: 12-month graduate programs are not eligible.
