Let’s do this. Let’s change the world.

Human health and well-being is intrinsically linked to nature. Nature is deteriorating globally, and biodiversity is declining faster than at any time in human history. Amgen is aware of the need to safeguarding nature and is developing a biodiversity strategy. The strategy will be aligned with global voluntary and mandatory frameworks. During this vital internship, the successful candidate will sit in the Environmental Sustainability team within Global Engineering and will be responsible for developing a short-term action plan and implementing first steps to start delivering on the strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Review applicable global voluntary and mandatory requirements on nature and biodiversity and determine gaps to compliance.

  • Determine potential nature and biodiversity risks across Amgen’s value chain. Develop and implement a process for assessment and prioritization of these risks. Risks might include land use changes, pollution, species exploitation, climate change and invasive species and disease, and other risks.

  • Develop mitigation roadmaps for high-priority risks. Perform a high-level analysis of potential solutions to manage risks. Provide recommendations for pilots and full-scale implementation approaches.

  • Define metrics and targets and track progress, milestones, and successes.
