SummaryThe Tulane University History Project is seeking a Research Assistant to support the project’s efforts to research and develop a detailed history of the University and its campuses, with respect to its racial history and founding, including the impacts from segregation and slavery.
Responsibilities include:•Identifying, locating, and organizing research materials related to Tulane’s history.•Coordinating internal and external research support.•Conducting historical research related to Tulane’s history.•Managing the project’s interview and oral history operations.•Participating in and supporting meetings, events, and initiatives sponsored by or related to the history project.
This is a full-time position that will terminate when the project ends.
• Bachelor’s Degree in History, area studies, Library and Information Sciences, or relevant discipline.• Experience conducting historical research.
• Master’s Degree or PhD in History, area studies or relevant discipline.• Experience conducting interviews or oral histories.
