Impact

Creates value and reputation to the Bank through government relations activities.

Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting with all Government Affairs activities to help promote Ponce Bank's mission. Supports VP, Director of Govt Affairs in all aspects related to Government Affairs and provides support to EVP of External Affairs in External Affairs related tasks as needed.

Essential Functions

1. Supports VP, Director of Govt Affairs in all government relations activities.

2. Coordinates, tracks and identifies potential government relation events.

3. Coordinates changes in the communities the Bank serves to work with elected officials and government entities to identify government resources.

4. Maintains a database of all elected officials and their contact information.

5. Maintains a database on all government related Bank Applications including identifying potential storytelling opportunities.

6. Assists VP Govt Affairs in identifying government opportunities for the Bank.

7. Builds Ponce's brand through government relation activities and promotes key company initiatives and business objectives via government event opportunities

8. Supports and creates content on government activities to support the brand and presence of the Bank.

9. Supports digital efforts on government website registration and submission of applications.

10. Maintains and updates access to governmental programing portals.

11. Corresponds with external sources to represent and build the Bank portfolio

12. Assists in yearly CDFI ACR's for the Bank and Holding Company.

13. Assists in yearly RRP, ERP and any other programs reporting to CDFI Fund.

14. Assists in any other yearly reporting to Governmental entities

15. Coordinates government event support with the Marketing department and BDM's if necessary.

Ancillary Functions

1. Communicates clearly among her/his team, assuring all team members have the appropriate tools and information to perform according to expectations.

2. Assures adherence to Bank policies and procedures and federal and state regulatory requirements.

3. Provides cross-functional support to other areas of the department and the Bank where service or assistance is needed.

4. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.

5. Works effectively with internal stakeholders, and corporate teams.

6. Is highly communicative and responsive to all stakeholders while handling a large volume of projects.

Mandatory Training Curricula

Training is required of all Bank staff as related to regulatory mandated compliance topics and courses required for specific job functions. Career enhancement training courses are also available. Please refer to course catalog and management for details.

Skills

Clearly communicates in English, and Spanish is helpful.

Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.

Proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills.

Knowledge of banking operations, policies, and procedures.

Knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and services.

Knowledge of current banking regulations, including the Community Reinvestment Act.

Engaging personality and professional demeanor to interact confidently with members and community partners.

Professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present as needed.

Demonstrated ability to work with external agencies and manage day to day interactions.

Ability to align day-to-day activities to assigned objectives and incorporate feedback and take direction well.

Energetic, hard-working attitude when working independently or as an integral member of External Affairs team.

Passion for accuracy and thoroughness with the ability to monitor and check own work to ensure quality.

Necessary organizational skills to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.

Constant desire to expand abilities and learn new techniques, skills and tools.

Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Proficient knowledge of computer systems and information technology.

Proficient PC skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Physical Demands

The physical and related demands described in this section are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job is mostly sedentary in nature, but may occasionally involve lifting files and other materials that weigh up to 20 lbs. Employees in this job must be able to work in an office environment during regular business hours where they come into regular and frequent contact with internal and external customers and other members of the public. Therefore, employees in this position are expected to have consistently positive interactions with the public.
