Our Pharm Trade Compliance program strives to reduce compliance risk by proactively and strategically identifying and remediating risk areas related to imports and exports.

We are positioned within the pharmaceutical segment to build global strategies and general trade consultation to the business units serviced by Janssen Supply Chain. We bring to bear our position to gain visibility into Janssen operations, processes, systems, and organizational structure, which provides us with the insights on how to best address compliance activities and tailor them to Janssen's specific needs

We take pride in being an in-house resource for Janssen Trade Compliance, ready to change as needed, from supporting rapid launches of life-saving medicine to our patients to agilely intervening to address potential SC disruptions. We also identify potential supply chain optimization opportunities and integrate Trade Compliance into supply chain processes for optimal operational efficiency and productivity expansion. But our work doesn't stop there; we provide proactive Trade Compliance support on network optimization strategies, lead significant cost-savings opportunities, and socialize and train business functions on Global Trade Compliance topics.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, Integrate, and Streamline Trade Compliance Solutions and Processes for Optimal Compliance and Efficiency.
  • Actively participate in reducing risk and strengthening Trade Compliance for the commercial legal entities of the pharmaceutical segment of Johnson & Johnson via targeted Trade projects and tasks around Valuation, Classification, Country of Origin, Special Trade Programs (Duty Drawback, Foreign/Free Trade Zones, AEO, Chamber of Commerce).
  • Participate in projects that efficiently integrate and streamline Trade Compliance processes with Pharm business operations, systems, and departments and vice versa.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder in the implementation of S4/Hana SAP upgrade for Pharm.
  • Support Export Lead as needed in the implementation of GTS for the Pharm segment.
  • Collaborate with various enterprise departments, organizations, and stakeholders to advocate for Trade Compliance, representing Janssen's interests (e.g., Trade Compliance Operations, HCC, Enterprise Trade Controls).
  • Serve as business process owner for existing trade related Pharm data, as well as in preparation of future trade related Pharm data and processes (e.g., participation in drafting user stories for S4/GTS, providing input on required field determinations, etc.) inclusive of setting up processes for periodic review of master data to cleanse for historic errors/inaccuracies.
  • Act as escalation for support to troubleshoot SAP system logic errors related to trade data and escalate further to appropriate personnel if needed.
  • Offer support to business operations by intaking active issues facing pharm (e.g., maintain Helpdesk intake process to respond to urgent supply chain delays or issues related to trade).
Education:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, focused degree on Supply Chain, International Business/Finance, or related field is preferred
Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Work experience in Supply Chain or Trade Compliance, with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience; (Supply Chain, Transport & Distribution, Logistics, International Studies, etc.)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong in attention to detail, and timely follow up
  • Knowledge or experience with ERPs and/or Trade Compliance systems, in particular SAP, SAP GTS and/or E2Open Trade Automation
  • Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority; build consensus and look for collaboration with people from different organizations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage several projects of varying complexity simultaneously and effectively
Preferred:
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience and/or training in the following areas of competence: HS classification, valuation, special trade programs, country of origin, trade control processes
  • Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI and/or other analytical tools
  • FPX, Agile, or Six Sigma certified
  • Licensed Customs Broker, CUSECO, or other comparable industry certifications
Other:
  • Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $90.000- $145,000.
