## **About The Role**Verifying the identities of our users is foundational to ensuring trust and safety on Uber's platform. As the Global Safety & Identity Lead, you will be responsible for driving the overall strategy of the program to ensure objectives are met which include:- Setting minimum standards for identity verification of drivers and couriers globally to bolster user trust- Designing a risk-based system that balances accurate and robust verification with the user experience- Providing assurance over the efficiency of verification controlsWe are looking for candidates with phenomenal attention to detail and who are passionate about finding and fixing problems. You're an effective program manager with a curiosity about managing diverse stakeholders and navigating cross-functional partnerships. Compelling candidates should be able to clearly communicate and influence a cross-functional audience on meaningful changes that impact safety!## **What You'll Do**- Own and be the subject matter expert for User Identity from start to finish - defining the problem space and risk profile, recommending safety controls to address gaps, and rigorously setting, scoring, and supervising key program goals and objectives;- Develop action plans to meet program objectives and hold teams accountable;- Coordinate with partner teams including Product, Data Science, Support and others to align on program strategy and support ongoing initiatives;- Liaise with local teams around the world to recommend improvements to safety programs scoping, building, testing, and deployment across the globe;- Build productive and successful relationships with operations, functional leadership, and other relevant global and regional stakeholders along with continuous reporting on the progress of the program- Identify operational and structural weaknesses, and help improve existing or develop new processes to keep us as efficient as possible- Design and implement processes for early identification of trends and/or blocking issues in safety incidents- Build and implement globally-scalable processes and initiatives to improve safety on the Uber platform- Set and develop best-practice standards, and ensure their maintenance and continuous improvement## **Basic Qualifications**- Bachelor's Degree- 5+ years experience in high-growth technology companies or a multinational company with an established safety culture (as a Program Manager, Consultant, and or within Operations / Product)- Data-driven decision-making mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking and experimentation;- Demonstrated experience interpreting and presenting data to various audiences; ability to translate quantitative findings into action plans;- Strong stakeholder, leadership and project management capabilities. You should have the ability to zoom out to see the big picture and zoom in on key operational details, while leading cross-functional teams to achieve common goals;## **Preferred Qualifications**- 7+ years experience in a related field (identity verification, account security, or platform safety)- Data analytical skills in SQL would be a plus- Strong organization and project management skills along with solid communication skills both verbal + written- Strong background of being a respected operational problem solver- Ability to take initiative in a constantly changing work environment## **About The Team**The Safety Operation team's mission is to make Uber the safest platform for mobility and delivery and to support the safe and sustainable growth of the business.

You will play a meaningful role by supporting key safety initiatives across all of our safety risk areas!For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$133,000 per year - USD$147,500 per year.For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$148,000 per year - USD$164,000 per year.For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$148,000 per year - USD$164,000 per year.For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
