About the Team:
Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS, a Dow Jones company, enables stakeholders in the global chemical industry to improve operational efficiency with deep insights, future outlooks, price discovery and consultation from a celebrated team of subject matter experts. We offer short- and long-term market coverage for more than 200 core building-block chemicals with a full suite of advisory services and top-tier events held around the globe. The worldwide chemical industry looks to Chemical Market Analytics to guide decisions and help manage risk across the entire value chain.
About the Role:
As the Global Business Lead for Research and Analysis within Chemical Market Analytics (CMA), you will be a globally recognized leader and expert in Inorganic Chemicals coverage. You will manage the Inorganics Research team and align with other CMA business operations - including Sales, Marketing, Legal, Product Development, Strategic Analytics, Events, and other Base Chemical value chains. You will actively contribute to business strategy, projects, and implementation through Leadership Team participation. You will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Research and Analysis.
You Will:
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of Inorganic chemical markets for which CMA provides insight
- Oversee research team projects and initiatives to grow Inorganics' breadth, value propositions, and revenue
- Meet or exceed annual subscription count and revenue goals for all Inorganics products
- Direct research team to continuously identify and capitalize on value-added service enhancement opportunities for legacy products and coverage extensions including new chemicals, customers, markets, and industry developments
- Establish, implement, and maintain compliance with an Inorganics team product, communications, and documentation standard of excellence and error-free performance with respect to company and CMA policies and procedures, client and prospect interfaces, price discovery and forecasting, reporting, and public speaking
- Provide information and support for all legal needs associated with Inorganic chemicals products
- Regularly interface at executive level with producers, consumers, financial market, and industry organizations associated with Inorganics market insights provided by CMA
- Advance the CMA brand by delivering insightful client and prospect presentations to all organizational levels, including the C-suite at client visits and high-profile industry speaking events
- Manage Global Service Leads (GSLs) and ensure that they effectively manage & develop their team members
- Identify research team members' development needs and provide direction and mentorship for continuous growth
- Coordinate with other OPIS businesses and Dow Jones, including The Wall Street Journal and Baron's, to leverage synergies and respective strengths to capture synergistic value for Dow Jones
- Establish and operate effectively to Inorganics budgets, including travel and entertainment
You Have:
- 15+ years' direct experience in chemical markets
- Commercial chemicals management experience
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with chemical industry executives in one-to-one meetings and speaking engagements
- Active chemical company contact list, including executive management
- People management experience
- Undergraduate degree in Chemistry of Engineering
- MBA degree
- Experience in chlor-alkali chemicals and/or vinyls (preferred)
