Primary Responsibilities:
HDR's GIS System Administrator/Solution Architect is responsible for sophisticated computer information systems management duties required for the successful development and integration of various Program Systems, providing intermediate computer systems configuration and analysis for specific system assignments and interacting between the infrastructure and operations teams to provide additional support and problem-solving for escalated computer systems issues. Core duties and responsibilities include:
Working closely with technology and engineering teams on designing the right solutions and systems architecture for project requirements, and clearly defining what metrics will be collected and used to evaluate the success of the implementation and how this data will be accessed, which includes:
- Reviewing complex system programming and analysis tasks within a single computer information system or group of computer information sub-systems;
- Performing and reviewing complex computer information system analyses, design, and configuration functions (including defining technical requirements);
- Performing and reviewing complex computer information system analyses, assessments, and resolution of defects and incidents and escalating appropriately;
- Building effective relationships with stakeholders and performing basic project technical coordination;
- Utilizing business knowledge to explain technical requirements and activities in business terms;
- Developing, standardizing, and maintaining new or improved processes based on findings and analyses;
- Assisting in conducting research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support Computer Information System Program procurement efforts;
- Working within project scopes, budgets, and designing approaches to deliver computer information systems solutions on time, within budget, and with a high level of client service;
Participating in the agile development process by participating in standups, planning, and retrospectives, which includes:
- Attending daily SCRUM meetings;
- Collaborating with technology and engineering teams on new ideas and feature development;
- Participating in code reviews in a continuous delivery environment; and
- Stating opinions and contributing to an inclusive decision-making process; and
Encouraging and fostering a continuous learning and development environment, which includes:
- Communicating process changes, enhancements, and modifications - verbally or through written documentation - to senior management, peers, staff, and other employees, so that computer information system issues and solutions are understood by technology and business user groups;
- Maintaining and sharing expertise in existing and emerging industry software and technologies and evaluating their application to improve the currently utilized computer information systems; and
- Partnering with our technology and HR teams to attract, hire, and retain top computer information system professionals with the highest engineering standards.

Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Survey Science, Survey Engineering, Geomatics, or a closely related computer-focused discipline. Foreign equivalent accepted.
- 5 years postgraduate, progressive experience in GIS development.
- Required experience must include experience in: GIS system design, development, integration and testing; GIS system administration; GIS database design and administration; business analysis; project management; and Agile and Waterfall System Development Life Cycle.
- Must be proficient in the following tools and technologies: ArcGIS Desktop; ArcGIS Pro; ArcGIS Spatial; ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Data Stores); ArcGIS License Manager; ArcGIS On-line; ArcSDE; 3D and Network Analyst; ESRI Web App Builder; Experience Builder; Dashboards; ESRI Portal and ArcServer REST; ESRI Javascript APIs; DevOPS; JIRA; Powershell; SQL Server; Oracle; PostgreSQL; MS Access; FME Desktop; FME Server; Maximo Spatial; ProjectWise; Sharepoint; Amazon Web Services; Microsoft Azure; MS Active Directory; and Microsoft Windows Server.

The expected compensation range for this position is $128,627 to $192,000 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
