Job Description
- Complete projects outlined in the summer internship objectives as developed by management.
- Research and verify asset information from various data sources throughout the company in digital or hard copy format (i.e. as-builts, alignment sheets, job books, reports, etc…) for input into enterprise geodatabase.
- Provide high-quality data editing following established standards.
- Produce information products, such as project-oriented maps, presentation slides, and data exports, for internal and external customers.
- Work with various departments and disciplines to support their GIS needs.
- Travel to field locations as needed for data collection or other projects.
- Prepare and present an end of summer presentation as a capstone to the internship program.
- Look for opportunities to use GIS in new ways at the company.
- Assist GIS staff as required.
Completion of upper-level college courses in GIS and be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in GIS, geography, geospatial sciences, information systems, or closely related field.
- Proficient in ArcGIS Pro 2.x.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience editing within a geodatabase.
- Experience with Esri ArcGIS Online and/or Enterprise a plus.
- Strong academic record (minimum 3.0 GPA preferred).
- Must be able to travel to a field location for an extended period.
- Meets established deadlines for tasks and projects.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Must have excellent written and verbal skills.
- Must be able to function as a team player and contribute to team efforts.
- Must provide excellent customer service to internal customers.
- Must be able to demonstrate accuracy in daily work and other projects.
