Gift Shop Sales Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented Sales Associate to join our team. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, driving sales, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Alaska Mint is a high end Gift Shop, manufacturer, and wholesaler. The multi faceted operation is exciting and offers variation in daily tasks. Our customers are from all over the world and love being in Alaska Looking for the perfect gift or memento to bring home. We are a local small business that offers flexibility in hours as well as shared commissions that add greatly to the Employees pay. Parking is also provided.

```Responsibilities:```
- Greet customers and assist them in finding products or answering their questions
- Provide product knowledge and recommendations to customers
- Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Handle cash and credit card transactions with precision and integrity
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, including restocking shelves and arranging merchandise
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service
- Stay up-to-date on current promotions, discounts, and product offerings
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner

- Strong retail math skills for accurate cash handling and transactions
- Basic math skills for calculating discounts, sales tax, and change
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain a clean and well-stocked store environment
- Multilingual abilities to effectively communicate with customers of different backgrounds
- Strong verbal communication skills to engage with customers and provide exceptional service
- Proficiency in operating a point-of-sale (POS) system for efficient transactions
- Cash handling experience with attention to detail and accuracy
- Previous experience in retail sales is preferred but not required
- Phone etiquette skills for answering customer inquiries or taking orders over the phone
