Boston Government Services is seeking a part time Geothermal Energy Stakeholder Engagement Specialist to support the Department of Energy’s Geothermal Technologies Office in Golden, CO.

This position supports the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), Geothermal Technologies Office (GTO) in communications and Stakeholder Engagement. The candidate will be part of the GTO communications team, helping to develop materials to communicate technical information and GTO initiatives to various stakeholders both internal and external to DOE. The position requires a high level of organization, strong attention to detail, and professional and proficient communication. We are seeking a motivated and organized self-starter with communications experience and solid writing skills who is capable of multitasking with minimal direction or oversight. Candidate will be responsible for:
- Helping to find or brainstorm designs for photos, graphics, charts, logos, and other visual materials to support announcements, social media, websites, etc.
- Providing support to communications and technical staff to plan quarterly webinars, conference attendance, and other stakeholder events.
- Researching and potentially drafting technical and background information for presentations, social media, GTO’s website, reference materials, and talking points
- Reviewing and editing materials such as web pages, newsletters and eblasts, and presentations
- Assisting with drafting or reviewing technical responses to stakeholder inquiries
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (communications, public affairs, journalism, marketing, or other appropriate discipline)
- 3+ years’ experience in communications and/or Stakeholder Engagement
- Demonstrated writing and editing skills, DOE plain language experience preferred.
- Self-starter, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a highly dynamic and collaborative team.
- Ability to balance multiple long- and short-term projects and competing priorities.
- Willingness and ability to learn technical terminology and concepts.
- Understanding of social media platforms (esp. X, Facebook, and LinkedIn)
- Must be US citizen.
- Successful drug screening.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Starting compensation for this role typically hourly ranges between $40/hr-$50/hr andis commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
