Slade Land Use, Environmental, and Transportation Planning, a full service environmental consulting and general contracting firm located in Birmingham is seeking a Geotechnical Lab Technician.
The following qualifications are required:
-Soil lab testing experience (describing soil characteristics, moisture and density tests, maximum density, expansion index, consolidation, direct shear test, corrosion testing, sieve analysis and hydrometer, Specific Gravity, Atterberg Limits, and Sand Equivalent Test)
-Knowledge of grading and construction procedures
-Ability to read and understand engineering plans and grading plans
-Experience using Nuclear Density Gauge and Sand Cone Method testing
-Good technical writing skills, computer skills, and communication skills
Local candidates only (currently living in or near Birmingham, AL). Must be authorized to work in the US and possess a valid Alabama drivers license and clean driving record.
