- Preparation of common reagents/media following general laboratory procedures.
- Inventory control and ordering of lab supplies.
- Maintenance and handling of viable cultures.
- Preparing complex media with limited direction.
- Interfacing with outside vendors and service providers.
- General up-keep of instrumentation and equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Assist with laboratory instruction and supervision
- Assist with design of experiments
- Assist with writing laboratory procedures
- Provide an effective level of support to the teaching mission of the laboratory
Level II:
High school diploma or equivalent plus 1 year of relevant experience working in a scientific lab performing tests and/or research.
Level III:
High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of relevant experience working in a scientific lab performing tests and/or research.
Substitutions allowed for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
