Permian Basin Overview
ConocoPhillips and its heritage companies have operated in the Permian Basin for almost 100 years. Across New Mexico and Texas, the company holds conventional positions in the Northwest Shelf and Central Basin Platform, and an unconventional position in the Delaware Basin. Permian saw significant growth in 2021 with the acquisition of Concho Resources Inc. in January 2021 and the addition of Shell’s Permian acreage in December 2021. At year-end, the company held approximately 1.5 million net acres in the Permian Basin.
Net production for the Permian in 2022 was 461 MBOED.
Description
If you are selected as the Permian Integrated Operations Geospatial Intelligence Application Specialist, you will work with various team members on the Geospatial Intelligence team as well as IT members to assist and/or manage Geospatial applications such as SDE, Server manager, ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey 123 and ArcGIS monitor. Documentation of all applications will be a big part of this role as well as assisting in the architectural design of databases and workflows. Candidate must be able to troubleshoot issues, train users and work with various stakeholders within the organization.
This position can be based in Midland, Texas or Carlsbad, New Mexico.
This is a Safety Sensitive position.
Responsibilities may include:
- Interface and collaborate with management, engineering, construction, and other teams
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously with a commitment to keeping projects on time
- Administration of ESRI Enterprise services
- Advanced GIS problem solving
- SDE editing and maintenance
- Troubleshooting GIS applications
- ArcGIS monitoring
- Visio workflow diagram creation
- Support Operational team requests for GIS products
- Maintain ArcGIS published services
- Support mobile users with app setup and troubleshooting
- Training others to use survey and mobile applications
- ArcGIS mobile app design and creation
- ArcGIS Web map design and creation
- ArcGIS Sites page administration
Basic/Required:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
- 7+years of GIS experience
- 3+ years of oil and gas experience
- 3+ years of ArcGIS Enterprise/AGOL experience
- 3+years of ArcGIS database administration
- Advanced knowledge with (IT) information technology background
- Advanced proficiency with (IT) information technology troubleshooting
- Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 15% of the time on a yearly basis
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Geospatial Information Systems, Engineering, or another related technical field or foreign equivalent
- Basic level of identifying Oil and Gas equipment
- Basic level of understanding of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) equipment
- Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Advanced level of proficiency with ArcGIS Pro
- Familiar with ArcGIS Dashboard, Geo event and Server Manager
- Intermediate level of knowledge in remote sensing
- Intermediate level of knowledge of Map projections
- Intermediate level proficiency with Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
- Basic GIS skills: data exporting, SDE editing, database joins, cartography, geo processing.
- Possess good organizational, and oral and written communication skills
