NV5 Geospatial is currently seeking a Geospatial Analyst in our St. Petersburg, FL office. This is an excellent opportunity to advance a career in the geospatial industry supporting multiple task orders within the GEOINT tradecraft. The Analyst will work as part of a team in an ArcPro environment to create and update highly attributed feature data within a geodatabase from imagery and ancillary sources to provide intelligent datasets that can be used for mission planning and support. They may also work in a 3D environment creating and editing digital elevation models to client specifications. The ideal candidate must be analytical, self-motivated with exceptional planning and critical thinking skills, communication skills, and work well in a collaborative team environment as well as independently. They will be able to perform responsibilities with minimal training to create high quality datasets.


  • Photointerpretation of geographic features from aerial and satellite imagery
  • Create and update highly attributed feature data
  • Review of maps and other ancillary sources to enhance data value
  • Attribution and update of metadata
  • Produce finalized data deliverables
  • Provide technical support and training to implement workflow and methods with limited direction
  • Edit terrain to within project specification standards when tasked
  • Coordination and collaboration with the project team members on the progress of production
  • Completion of all project forms, spreadsheets, and checklists
  • Creates or assists with reports; including data reports, archiving, and final deliverables
  • Identifies and develops process improvements/efficiencies and workflow automation
  • Attend training and/or meetings relating to job requirements
  • Demonstrates leadership in small group
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with clients
  • Performs quality assurance methods to ensure a high degree of data consistency, integrity, and accuracy and provide feedback in the form of constructive criticism to peers
  • Georeferencing of source data and/or scanned maps
  • Assists in problem solving/troubleshooting
  • Assists in training peers and new staff

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates problem solving ability across software platforms

  • Demonstrates efficiency, accuracy in tasks, and organization of data management

  • Aptitude for learning multiple geospatial software programs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of imagery analysis experience working within the Esri ArcGIS desktop
  • Associate degree, or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with digital geospatial software: ESRI ArcGIS, DAT/EM Summit Evolution, Socet Set, Socet GXP, Microstation, AutoCAD or equivalent
  • Intermediate knowledge of mapping and cartography
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Drive
  • U.S. citizenship required to comply with government contract
  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification
  • 4+ years’ experience in a technical, professional work environment
  • 3+ working with NGA/DoD/AGC products
  • 2+ years stereo compilation experience working with SocetSet/GXP or other photogrammetric software suites having precise stereo vision acuity
  • Possess a Secret level DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering program, or equivalent experience
