ROLE OVERVIEW
While working in the Clean Room, Converting, Rewind, or Slitting department you will be given an opportunity to develop your skills through our training programs. You start at an entry-level position to learn the basics, and have the chance to progress and become a machine operator. You will have various opportunities to cross-train and develop new skill sets for a successful career at Amcor.
SHIFTS AVAILABLE:
- Straight Nights 2-2-3 shift schedule 12 hour shifts
- Rotating 2-2-3 shift schedule 12 hour shifts
COMPENSATION: $18.48/hour-$23.24 + $1.20/hour night shift premium available + 1.5x pay on Sundays!

WHAT EXTRUSION ASSISTANTS GET TO DO:
- Assist operators will aid in all aspects of operation of Tuber lines including change-overs, machine start-up, running and shut-down.
- Support operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety.
- While also knowing and understanding the role in product safety.
- When qualified will operate Tubers when an operator is absent, or on vacation.
- Order and maintain resin boxes to sustain a proper steady supply of resin for Tuber machines Packaging mill rolls Weigh and haul scrap Miscellaneous housekeeping duties
- Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work)
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
WHAT LAMINATION ASSISTANTS GET TO DO:
- Obtains Job Jackets and reads job specifications to determine cores, adhesive, and other supplies needed by the operator for each product produced. Review production schedule to assure correct materials are available.
- Assists machine operator in setting up machine, start ups, shut downs, etc.
- Maintains material inventory to ensure sufficient materials are available.
- Label and return material to inventory.
- Learn to operate the machine and serve as backup operator when operator is away from machine or on vacation.
- Label boxes, cut cores when needed, band header pallets when necessary.
- Adheres to plant housekeeping standards, including specific department requirements: sweeps floor, recyclables, empties garbage, and keeps area clean.
- Maintains cleanliness of the glue deck area.
- All other duties as assigned by management and supervisors
WHAT PRESS ASSISTANTS GET TO DO:
- Assist press operator by providing support during setup and operation of Flexographic Press
- Check viscosity on each press deck
- Color matching
- Assemble blade chambers
- Assure that all jobs are run in accordance to all written specifications including manufacturing specs, customer specs, print specs, color folders, and standard operating procedures
- Make sure all materials including inks, stock, cylinders, gears, cores and aniloxes are ready for next job
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
WHAT CONVERTING ASSISTANTS GET TO DO:
- Assure that all jobs are run in accordance to all written specifications including manufacturing specs, customer specs, print specs, color folders, and standard operating procedures
- Prepare supplies for upcoming orders to expedite the changeover process
- Maintain and assist with line clearance, and all daily /weekly cleaning
- Assist the operator with basic machine adjustments as needed
- Clear jams at both the cut-off knife and the cracker
- Perform periodic measurement checks
- Perform visual inspection of bags and wrap according to customer specifications
- Immediately notifies Co-workers, Operator, Leads, and Supervisors /Management of Quality concerns/issues
- Pack bags neatly and according to packaging guidelines
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL ENTRY-LEVEL MANUFACTURING POSITIONS:
- Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs
- Willing and able to stand and walk for a 12 hour shift
- Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
- Frequent use of wrist and hands
- Frequent stepping up and down from platforms

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU:
- Previous manufacturing experience a plus, not required
- Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programs
- Possess adequate math, measurement, and reading skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
- Required to have visual acuity to perform visual inspection including the use of measurement devices and ability to identify and distinguish colors
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others in a team environment

Pay: $18.48 - $23.24 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week
