Williams-Sonoma, Inc Supply Chain Overview

- 3300 full-time associates across Supply Chain
- 9 large Furniture Distribution Centers located in Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, and Newark totaling 7.5 million square feet
- 38 delivery hubs in cities larger than 750,000 in population
- 3 small package ecommerce Distribution Centers located in Memphis, TN and Olive Branch, MS totaling 3 million sq ft, consisting of 1200 full-time associates and 5000 seasonal/temporary associates

The General Operations Manager position is responsible for providing overall leadership, management, and strategic direction to maintain inventory accuracy, set daily production schedules, purchasing, fabric scheduling and cutting, and the upholstery department (as needed) within upholstery furniture manufacturing plant(s).
The General Operations Manager position is located in Tupelo, MS.
You'll be excited about this opportunity because you will....
- Manage daily expedited order request from internal colleagues and keep a fluid line of communication in a timely manner.
- Manage and maintain vendor relationship for all raw materials coming into the facility to meet all expected delivery requirements and dates.
- Influence cross functional partners to complete their responsibilities per the required timelines
- Oversee all expedited orders that are related to Sutter Street. This includes assisting in responding to customer complaints, executive orders, replacement, and partials (parts) orders
- Give guidance and training to those that handle any sort of order escalation which would require communication with the production floor
- Keep a running priority list of all expedites, so the GOM's are very clear on what is required of their teams
- Own your job by making it the best it can be. Figure out ways to improve the current process and make suggestions and get suggestions from peers and other colleagues.
- Complete assigned projects independently and work well within a team environment
- Work safely and contribute to a professional environment
- Utilize Williams-Sonoma's Mission, Vision, and Values to govern daily activities, including guidance to other associates and departments.

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in furniture manufacturing including production planning, inventory management, Order Processing, etc.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and work extra hours as needed
- Understanding of the needs of a retail/customer driven lifestyle brand where ship on time and commitment to quality and customer service is critical
- Ability to multi-task and be extremely detailed on written and verbal communications/documentation.
- Strong Microsoft Office Knowledge - especially Outlook, Excel, Power Point
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure, and be a fast learner.
- Excellent teamwork and partnership - performing whatever duties are necessary to complete the task at hand
- Strong relationship skills both internally and externally
- Understanding of web-based order management systems
