SUMMARY:
P&L responsibility for multiple Sand & Gravel aggregate operations within the region. Responsible for oversight of safety, maintenance, production, process improvement initiatives, quality control, environmental, etc. Oversee plant managers and employees to ensure efficiency and quality are met in the production of aggregates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the health and welfare of all operations personnel and ensuring all operations meet or exceed MSHA standards and all government rules and regulations.
- Collaborate with plant managers to coordinate and achieve company objectives.
- Manages and directs employee relations activities at assigned plants to ensure a high level of employee satisfaction and plants operate with no work stoppages or any type of disruptions.
- Ensures that materials mined are processed in accordance with company specifications and quality standards.
- Ensures that each assigned plant has a comprehensive system to track and monitor costs on a daily/monthly basis to determine performance and develop plans to address variances.
- Ensure that each plant has a preventive maintenance program to perform regular and routine maintenance.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Seven or more years of experience managing surface mining operations, preferably within the construction aggregates industry. Experience managing multiple sites and Sand & Gravel Operations preferred.
- Associate degree in a related field or equivalent industry work experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of MSHA regulations, safety compliance, and environmental regulations and policies.
- Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective distribution techniques.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suites programs.
- Possess excellent communication skills including both written and oral.
- Knowledge and understanding of modern purchasing and procurement practices.
- Strong understanding of quality control systems and processes to eliminate defective products.
- Adapt programs to motivate and reward people toward higher levels of performance.
