JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Regional Director, the incumbent is responsible, either personally or through subordinates, for managing his/her station in a manner that achieves optimal profitability through sales, high-level customer service, operational efficiencies, utmost integrity, and with a strong commitment to BDP International Inc. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work with existing sales team to execute sales strategy. This includes, but is not limited to, personally building and maintaining a book of business and providing executive coaching and support to the team as needed.
Maximize profitability through strong, decisive and entrepreneurial leadership, while maintaining BDP's high standards of quality and customer service. Foster strong relationships with customers and vendors to strengthen BDP's position in the marketplace. Operate station with the utmost integrity with full support of BDP International's DNA.
Personally support large or complex operational shipments/projects. Strong ability to recognize, hire, develop, and train high potential talent and provide a challenging and rewarding work experience. Continually strive for additional value creation and efficiencies for our customers including improvement of existing KPIs.
In collaboration with team, drive continuous improvement efforts throughout the station to improve our customer experience and to enhance operational efficiencies. Ability to adapt to and manage change in a manner that results in little to no adverse impact to station, staff and or customers. Promote global teamwork by working closely with global partners to identify and close business opportunities and to strengthen BDP's brand throughout the world.
Ability to understand financial statements (i.e. P&L, Cash Flows, etc.) in order to maximize profits through sound business practices. Monitor cash flow, exchange, agent settlements and receivables.
Performs supervisory duties in manner consistent with BDP when hiring, training and developing, coaching and counseling, evaluating, and disciplining employees. Support operations when complicated projects need to be handled. Performs other duties as assigned.
Maintain & support training and ensuring all staff achieve certifications for FCPA , Hazardous & TSA and or other Gov't regulated programs.Requirements: To ensure that all decisions and actions take into account the utmost safety in respect to the quality of the Environment, and health of employees and contractors in which BDP interacts with on a daily basis. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in business or related field from a four-year college or university.(Preferred) Minimum five - seven years overall management experience with a concentrated background in all freight forwarding, logistics arenas. Knowledge of import and export procedures.
Proven sales record in securing and maintaining customer base. Completion of any industry related course is an asset. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or overseas agents. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on various topics to customers, top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
