About the Concept

Lawn Club is an exciting new competitive socializing destination in the Seaport, having just opened in November, 2023.

 

Positioning itself as "New York's Leisure Headquarters," Lawn Club features indoor and outdoor rentable gaming lawns in a massive 25,000 square foot venue, along with amazing cocktails and a small menu of tasty bites.

 

Designed to deliver the ideal atmosphere for hanging out with friends, each rentable lawn at Lawn Club will come with a full complement of popular lawn games including but not limited to bocce, cornhole, croquet, ladders, kan jam and beersbee, along with big-screen TVs for sports enjoyment, courtside F&B service, and dedicated "Lawncierges" to help with all gaming needs. Lawn Club also features two regulation Shuffle Board courts and two Putting Pool greens.

 

Lawn Club appeals to a variety of audiences: twenty-somethings looking for a fun night out, families looking for something to do together, anyone looking for a great event venue for their next social gathering, corporate event planners, and more.

  

About the Role

The General Manager is an experiential enthusiast who is responsible for bringing the Lawn Club concept to life through its overall day-to-day operation and business performance. This individual cultivates a fun, enthusiastic, supportive ambiance while leading and directing the team to achieve concept and brand alignment, sales, cost environment, guest enjoyment, employee retention, cleanliness, and all aspects of the business.

 

This role is ideal for a dynamic and results-driven hospitality professional with a proven track record in an experiential setting, preferably leisure/ entertainment concepts with a background in food and beverage. Boasting extensive experience in overseeing restaurant operations, leading teams, and delivering outstanding guest service in relaxed and casual dining environments, this person has an opportunity to drive revenue, create an exceptional experience, and lead teams to reach their fullest potential.

 

The Impact You'll Make | Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure the Lawn Club brand and experience align with the concept vision
  • Oversee all aspects of daily business operations, personnel management, sales, and profitability
  • Develop and implement revenue growth ideas and strategies, in partnership with appropriate stakeholders
  • Deliver a superior and fun gaming/ recreation experience to all guests and employees
  • Continually evolve the gaming experiences and overall programming  
  • Foster and maintain positive guest relations and resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests
  • Guide, direct, and train service staff; observe the flow of guests, and provide assistance
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas; respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests
  • Maintain a healthy, happy, and productive work environment to foster loyalty and dedication
  • Responsible for ensuring that all financial and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents; complete accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured
  • Be physically present on the floor during service to ensure service standards
  • Synthesize all internal departments and ensure clear, timely communication on necessary business matters
  • Communicate with BOH regarding pace of service, special needs, and general guest satisfaction
  • Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests, and company assets
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
  • Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues
  • Support recruiting, hiring, supervision, scheduling, development, mentoring and training of managers and hourly employees 
  • Overseeing marketing initiatives and special events
  • Drive successful performance management and utilize disciplinary actions as needed in partnership with HR
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Operate ethically to protect the assets and image of the company
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as per business need

 

About YOU! | KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL

 

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in a growing leisure entertainment concept or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years F&B management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant
  • Proven track record of managing budgets and increasing revenue successfully
  • Prior experience managing major projects and supervising the day-to-day activities of team members
  • Strong experience in upholding guest service and hospitality standards 
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail 
  • Ability to coordinate multiple business verticals including food, beverage, culinary, games, and more while maintaining required standards of operation in daily activities
  • Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports
  • Strong analytical capabilities including budgetary and financial acumen
  • POS and computer literate with the ability to learn and adapt to using all programs 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and eloquently, both verbal and written, across all levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated and high degree of emotional intelligence to manage and lead a diverse team
  • Must support and promote a culture of inclusiveness, respect, and a positive employee experience 
  • Ability to work in an ever-changing environment 
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.  
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; Ability to stand for prolong periods of time and climb steps regularly.  
  • Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. 

 

The base pay range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000  per annum. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
