OVERVIEW
Premier Martial Arts of Fox Valley (PMA) is on a journey to impact the lives of children and adults in the Fox Valley area. We are looking for a General Manager with Membership Sales experience who has a passion for changing lives through martial arts and character development. In short, we are looking for someone who is humble, hungry, and smart!
ABOUT YOU
You have an outgoing personality and regularly demonstrate a genuinely caring attitude toward the people we serve. You understand that to introduce the wonderful world of martial arts to as many people as possible you must be fully invested in your education to market and sell martial arts lessons.
A successful person in this role is someone who is passionate about the value that martial arts adds to a persons life. That is, in fact, exactly what your purpose in the school is; to market and sell martial arts lessons and be a brand ambassador of our school in the local community.
Your primary focus will be selling our programs, driving lead generation events, assisting on the mat as needed, and overall responsibility for the operation of our school.

TEAM DYNAMICS
  • Works in a collaborative team environment to share the progress of key growth initiaitives
  • Responsible for regular report-out on the status of various metrics to the team, families/members, and ownership group
  • Collaborates with team members to develop ideas to grow membership revenue through additional program offerings, promotional opportunities, referral programs etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Team Leadership: leads the staff in all areas of the operations of the business to include gaining new students, retaining students, and upgrading students to higher level programs
  • Lead Generation: Generating new leads by attending community events, sponsored events, and being a local networking maniac in the community!
  • Marketing: Execute campaigns, promo booths, sponsorships, and business-to-business affiliate programs.
  • Content Marketing: Promote high-quality video footage of students during classes, editing, posting, and promoting our social media: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Google (we use SoCi).
  • Lead Follow Up: Ensuring no lead gets cold, ever! And that every lead is treated with the same level of enthusiasm and passion.
  • Appointment Setting: Secure appointments for introductory lessons where the prospective customer can come in and visit the studio and experience why our service is so awesome! You will be obsessive about appointment attendance just as much as scheduling. You will be respectfully persistent but not pesky.
  • Sales Presentation: You will also be conducting the introductory lessons; this means communicating the full value of Premier Martial Arts and demonstrating both the mental and physical benefits. No, you DO NOT have to know martial arts, although if you do, thats a plus! Either way, we will train you! Yes, you DO have to be likable, energetic, passionate, and have the know-how to sell!
  • Deal Negotiation and Closing: Closing membership packages! A sale is made when a prospective customer decides they want to sign up for a membership program and a contract is signed. The GOOD NEWS is, we will train you with industry-leading sales scripts and strategies that are proven to convert! We will show you exactly how to lead these lessons and apply the closing strategies. The BAD NEWS is, we cant teach you how to be a natural salesperson, you need to be that already.
  • Upselling & Upgrading: Upgrading is vital to the growth of existing members! Once a customer is a member you will constantly be strategically selling to them through consistent progress checks on the student's growth. Then upgrading them to new packages as they progress and develop throughout their martial arts journey.
  • Customer Experience & Retention: Ensure every member and customer has nothing but an amazing experience. You know how to naturally amplify the positive experience making it even greater. But youre also good at quickly managing and defusing any negative experiences.
  • Referral campaigns: creating and executing referral programs designed to onboard new members and secure positive reviews online i.e.: yelp, google, social media
  • Operations & Administrative:
    • Conduct placement tests and evaluations for upgrade conferences.
    • Serve as an assistant instructor to support/learn the value of our programs.
    • General office management, filing, updating schedules, printing flyers new brochures, and tracking inventory.
    • Facility management: Seeing that the facility is clean, and safe, upholding PMA brand and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
You are usually the first and most important contact that a prospective customer has with our school. Employees in this role must be friendly, professional, personable, and approachable. And you must be detailed, organized, proficient, and be a self-starter.
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience required.
  • A track record of selling experience is required, and Membership Sales highly preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to teach classes as needed (as a back-up) required.
  • Strong competency with CRM platforms and MS Office a MUST
  • Must be a self-starter and go-getter, and accomplish tasks in with a high degree of quality
  • Tenacity: Must be a problem-solver and achievement-oriented.
  • Must be a skilled presenter/public speaker, and be able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings.
  • Martial Arts experience is not required, though proficiency in PMA instructional platform is expected and ongoing training will be provided.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to professional development (5hrs week on your time because you love to invest in yourself!)
  • Must be 18 or older to apply
  • US work authorization is required
  • Must complete a successful background check and periodic drug screening (we work with kids!)
Compensation:
The beauty of this position is that we are selling a service that is priceless. When you show the value of our product in your marketing and sales, people are more than happy to join (80% close ratio). Your commitment to spreading the benefits of our program can propel you into a great balance of meaningful work and financial success.
Hourly rate: Base $15/hr plus commissions (first-year total comp = $65k, then can grow to $85k+)
Monthly Bonus: When topline targets are met, an additional monthly bonus of $500 is available.
Profit Sharing retirement plan is also available.
Additional compensation is available for teaching Orientation Classes on Saturdays and conducting private lessons
Typical Schedule:
Mon Fri 1pm to 8pm
Sat - Sun As needed to support promotional events
