Description:
Ghostlight Coffee in Dayton, OH is looking for an enthusiastic restaurant industry professional to lead the team at our new concept, GATHER by Ghostlight. This new restaurant will be located at 37-39 W. 4th Street in the Historic Dayton Arcade.
Wine experience and education preferred, as this role would also cover the duties of house sommelier. This position would work closely with the Beverage Director on the wine, spirits, and beer lists for seasonal and regular updates, as well as help monitor COGS, pricing, and POS system accuracy. This person would also work closely with the Chef Consultant, Kitchen Manager and Coffee Bar Manager for coordination of the implementation of seasonal menus, as well as help monitor COGS, pricing and POS system accuracy.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE SEVERAL YEARS OF RESTAURANT AND WINE EXPERIENCE AS WELL AS A DEMONSTRATION OF PASSION FOR HOSPITALITY.
Duties include:
- manage the house service, leading the afternoon and evening shifts
- managing the team schedule
- managing departmental management team for coordination of all food and beverage offerings
- maintaining the cocktail, spirits, wine, and beer lists
- maintain and implement ongoing wine, cocktail and spirits training and education in tandem with the Lead Bartender and Beverage Director
- establish training plans in all other areas (such as coffee bar, kitchen and front of house service) with the department managers, in order to effectively staff those areas.
- working with the all management team leaders on COGS, pricing, and POS system
- acting as the house sommelier when appropriate. i.e., for wine service, special events, and sales of bottles for servers
- establish house, bar, coffee bar & kitchen opening & closing procedures, effectively communicate those systems to the management team and ensure the entire team is effectively executing them.
- maintaining daily and weekly financial & POS systems are maintained as per the needs of the company. Work with a contracted accounting agency to produce timely P&L reports to owners, investors and facility management.
Wages commensurate with experience.
Reports directly to the owner, director of operations and investor-directors.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Mondays. Compensation depends on your experience.
