Unit Manager of Steam Generator Design - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton Ohio
BWXT is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill the role of Unit Manager of Steam Generator Design. The Unit Manager will report to the Manager of the Design Engineering and Site SecurityThis role will be encompassed of managing engineering activities required to ensure structural adequacy of component designs, and direct analysis including documentation required to meet standards and requirements within cost and schedule.
This role will work in a team comprised of structural, thermal/hydraulic, manufacturing, welding, project, QA engineers and graphics designers to develop, evaluate and optimize pressure vessel designs for operation and manufacturability. In addition, it will work closely with manufacturing and project engineers to resolve fabrication related issues. Plan and manage cost center financials, engineering manpower, and proposal development. As well as provide engineering support across departments and shop floor operations.

- Assure design requirements are reflected accurately in design and fabrication documents
- Interface with customers to ensure program needs are met
- Staff the group at adequate levels to meet deliverables and support fabrication activities
- Direct, supervise, advise, assist, mentor, appraise personnel activities and establish development needs
- Monitor employee, cost center and contract performance to support business
- Actively pursue future work scopes with various customers that strengthen or enhance the technical capabilities of the organization
Job Qualifications:
- 7 years of pressure vessel design and analysis with detailed understanding of ASME Code Section III experience required
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Interest in working with multiple disciplines in support of product design and manufacture
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or similar, with master's degree preferred.
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DOE issued Security Clearance
