General Manager
Wokworks is seeking a dynamic, seasoned restaurant leader with an excellent work ethic. The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the business. This position will be accountable for the financial success of the store, the guest experience and creating a positive workplace culture for our staff. About us
Wokworks is a farm-to-fork stir fry shop specializing in the ancient technique of wok cooking. We focus on fresh, local ingredients, incredibly high heat, and hand crafted sauces. We are a fast growing restaurant group with 10 locations and rapidly expanding regionally. We have a small, tight knit leadership team and looking for incredibly talented people to join our management. Wokworks is a known brand in Philadelphia and this is our first out of state location. This will be a year round business but you can expect 1) heavy workload in the summer 2) an entire month paid vacation around December - January. We are hiring for this position to start in May 2024 with 1-2 weeks paid training off site.
What we are looking for
A restaurant manager focused on excellence in customer service, quality, standards and operations. Manager will report to ownership and “own” the operation. This individual must have:
-4+ years experience in restaurant management, including both front and back of house
-2 + years supervisory experience
-Fast casual experience a plus
-Experience in scheduling, hiring, firing, and management of teams and people
-Experience in a kitchen or food service environment where excellence in quality and execution are paramount
-Servesafe certified with high kitchen IQ
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-Meticulous with cleanliness and cleaning standards required to operate a high volume restaurant
-3 + years customer service experience engaging with customers, managing front facing teams, and driving sales through hospitality
-Highly self-motivated, with 100% compliance on all standards as the norm
-Ability to coach, mentor, advise, reward, and discipline teams of people in an effort to improve the overall team results of the operation
-Ability to understand ordering, purchasing, labor and other costs associated with the operation to ensure smooth and profitable service
-Available to be the point of contact for all shift leads and team members
-Ability to train on and learn every station in the operation and, when needed, cover stations and train
-Ability to meet and exceed financial expectations, including meeting labor % targets
· Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time (10 + hours a day/50 hour a week)
· Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays (according to business needs)
-Experience with POS restaurant systems and restaurant hardware/technology
-Ability to handle complex operations and personnel issues while maintaining a calm disposition
-Not easily frazzled or frustrated when presented with challenges and obstacles
-Ability to handle money with high standards
Job Responsibilities
-Hold primary responsibility for all store operations and be point-of-contact for ownership
-Manage the operation in line with core KPIs (Reviews, Labor % , COGS %, Health Score, Maintenance, Net Income %, Total Revenue)
-Manage service/shift leads and all team members
-Oversee opening and closing procedures and processes to ensure up to standards
-Ensure operations are in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards
-Make sure our all menu items are made and served according to company standards
-Hire, fire, schedule, train, and coach all team members
-Ensure excellence during all service hours in both FOH and BOH
-Ensure excellence in customer service engagement and training
-Maintenance management including all service and building issues
-Oversee ordering and purchasing leads
-Own weekly P&L and fine-tune operation to meet financial and service standards
-Fully comprehend and be able to perform all positions in the store
-Cover, when necessary, any and all positions in the store
-Supervise cash management
-Ensure all food quality and processes related to recipes and standards are maintained
-Identify and stop all bad or toxic behavior by team members or managers
-Build and maintain Wokworks culture and operating standards at all times
