Adoor Property Management LLC (“APM”) is a new property management platform focusing on build-to-rent and single-family rental (“SFR”) homes. APM will leverage Darwin Homes’ proprietary software and end-to-end real estate platform, establishing itself as a leading player in the SFR industry.
The Role
The General Manager is responsible for Adoor Property Management’s performance, strategy, and operational activities. The General Manager works cross-functionally with Product, Finance, and Operations to develop APM priorities, manage portfolio performance vs. operating plan, and drive accountability internally. The ideal candidate is an experienced business leader with cross-functional management experience, who can both be a member of the executive team and drive tactical execution. This position offers high performing leaders an opportunity for Client P&L ownership.
What You'll Do
- Manage APM portfolio performance, identifying critical business needs and helping to hold the Ops leadership team accountable for execution versus established plan
- Lead weekly, monthly, quarterly reviews with both internal and client teams, presenting a detailed analysis of both operational and financial performance Play a critical role in business development, leading new growth initiatives, industry relationships, and deal term negotiations
- Work with Asset Management and Operations to ensure expectations are being managed and met on budget
- Provide feedback to internal teams in alignment with strategy and organizational priorities, and drive the change required to achieve those strategies and priorities
- Participate in and/or lead operating plan and strategy development sessions with key cross-functional stakeholders
Requirements
- Maturity and discretion, with an innate ability to identify and protect confidential and sensitive internal information without receiving guidance
- Articulate in both verbal and written communication, with the ability to scale up or down communications to meet the needs of varying audiences. Represents the business well to external stakeholders
- Ability to use data to drive decision making, identify opportunities, and prioritize initiatives
- Prior experience in a start-up, or similarly fast-paced environment, where individuals must be agile, proactive, and able to executive with limited resources
- Must be able to work autonomously and deal with a high degree of ambiguity
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and track record of leading cross-functional initiatives to completion; the ability to lead both strategic and tactical initiatives with the same degree of ownership and drive Financial acumen, with a proven ability to manage a P&L and business performance to plan
- 5+ years of leadership experience directing teams; managing team performance, identifying personnel needs, and coaching to expectations
- Proven change manager who is able to utilize interpersonal skills to drive adoption of new processes and priorities
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting.
- Manual dexterity to operate equipment and perform tasks.
- Ability to bend, stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as necessary.
- Visual acuity to read printed materials, computer screens, and other documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Physical stamina and endurance to perform duties requiring physical exertion.
- Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including but not limited to, extreme temperatures, noise, and heights.
