Perform maintenance and repair of buildings, machinery and electrical and mechanical equipment; coordinate maintenance activities, including personnel, materials and equipment to complete assigned maintenance/site projects and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
Specifically, this position's main duties will include but not limited to turf maintenance, facility maintenance and repair, equipment operation and repair for the Sports Division and may also assist with department special events, including but not limited to sports tournaments, outdoor recreation and Balloon Fiesta Park events etc.

Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in construction technology; and
Four (4) years of general construction or facility maintenance experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
- Operations, services and activities of a General Maintenance program
- Methods and techniques of general construction including both rough and finish carpentry
- Maintenance and repair methods and techniques related to a wide range of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems including drinking water systems and associated equipment
- Maintenance procedures related to general construction and maintenance tool and equipment
- Operational characteristics of a wide variety of General Maintenance equipment and tools
- ARC and acetylene welding methods and techniques
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
- Coordinate the maintenance and repair of assigned facilities and equipment
- Interpret, explain and enforce department policies and procedures
- Operate a variety of maintenance equipment in a safe and effective manner
- Perform both rough and finished carpentry work
- Perform both gas and electric welding
- Work independently in the absence of supervision
- Communicate clearly and concisely
- Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
