Summary: The General Maintenance Worker under general supervision will maintain and oversee facility maintenance and building repairs according to contract specifications.  The General Maintenance Worker will comply with specific areas according to contract specifications and provide quality training and oversight to personnel assigned. The General Maintenance Worker will provide direct labor support for custodial and groundskeeping requirements when needed to meet contractual requirements.

Qualifications:

 Education: GED or High School diploma. One year experience in General Maintenance, repair and supervision.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A:  Job Specific:
  1. Ensure the cleaning and maintenance of all buildings and property according to contract specifications.
  2. Perform custodial tasks as needed per contract schedule requirements and standards.
  3. Complete general facility maintenance tasks when required.
  4. Be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance repairs and then complete minor repairs per contract requirements.
  5. Assist with repairs and projects according to contract needs.
  6. Perform and have the ability to assist in repair and conduct routine maintenance of equipment in the following areas:
    • HVAC – basic understanding, but expertise not required.
    • Machine/Carpentry        
    • Facilities Maintenance
    • Electrical Maintenance – basic understanding, but expertise not required.
    • Plumbing
  7. Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
  8. Operate a fleet vehicle and drive to contract locations throughout southeast New Mexico to assist or complete contractual obligations.
  9. Accept and accomplish special assignments from supervisor.
  10. Perform and oversee advanced floor maintenance as required to include stripping, waxing, buffing, and deep carpet cleaning.
  11. Willingness to perform job outside of traditional working hours.
  12. Willingness to travel up to three hundred miles per day as part of the working schedule.
B.  Company Specific:

  6. Complies with all organizational policies and procedures, to include all ethical business practices.
  7. Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the company.
  8. Maintains current licensure/certification for position, if applicable.
  9. Consistently follows departmental and company Health, Safety, Security, Hazardous Materials policies and procedures (OSHA, SDS information, HIPAA, and Workers Compensation).
  10. Respect for diversity (cultural, ethnicity, ideas, etc.) and demonstrate ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  11. Must carry work phone while on duty at all times; respond to phone calls, text messages, and emails in a timely manner.
  12. This position may require the employee to operate either a company owned or personal vehicle on behalf of the company; the company owned vehicle should always remain clean.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  1. Experience working with persons with disabilities preferred.

BACKGROUND AND SECURITY CHECKS REQUIRED:

RATE OF PAY: $16.00-$19.00 Per Hour
