General Maintenance

The University of Mount Union seeks qualified applicants for General Maintenance staff.

Under the direction of the Physical Plant Director and the Maintenance Supervisor, the General Maintenance position provides day-to-day repair and preventative maintenance services on university equipment. Move furniture and perform setups for campus events. Perform routine work assignment in all areas of the Maintenance Department in their mission to provide a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained facility.

Responsibilities

• Complete basic work orders as assigned
• Perform preventative maintenance to building equipment
• Setup/teardown tables and chairs for campus events
• Move and perform minor repairs to campus furniture
• Make large package deliveries throughout campus
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain a neat and clean work area including an assigned University vehicle.
• Responsible for the upkeep of all assigned tools and equipment

Shift Schedule: This position will work an afternoon shift (exact times to be determined).

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a General Maintenance background helpful. A positive work attitude and a willingness to work together as a team is essential. Good verbal and written communication skills required. Must be available to work any shift, if needed. Must be able to perform physical work, including lifting and maneuvering at least 80 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations, and be able to work from at least an eight-foot ladder. A valid Ohio Driver’s License is required to operate University vehicles.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
