General Laborer - Fabric Shop
POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for a driven General Laborer – Fabric Shop to assist our team in building high-quality fabric expansion joint components for our clients. As a General Laborer – Fabric Shop, you will be responsible for general maintenance of the facility, performing a wide variety of tasks to assist the productivity of the fabrication floor including cutting, assembling, splicing and punching of Norflex textile products to meet job specifications.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
- MUST know how to read a Tape Measure down to the 16th.**Tape Measure Test will be given**
- Cutting, layering, splicing and assembling and punching Norflex textiles to match drawings and specifications
- Using heat mold equipment for shaping and splicing of Norflex textiles to match drawings and specifications
- General cleaning and shop organization to maintain clean and safe work environments.
- Material handling.
- General department support to assist in efficient processing of material.
- Use power tools and machinery when needed.
- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform various manual labor tasks (e.g. equipment assembly, grinding, consolidating inventory).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Personal – Hungry, Humble and Smart
Education – High School Diploma
Job Experience - This is an entry level position. Ability to read drawings and a tape measure coupled with a strong work ethic will yield tremendous success.
Related - Prior experience working in the metal fabrication industry is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Occasional elevated indoor temperatures associated with Southeastern USA weather.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to use variety of tools and equipment
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read blueprints, cut sheets and job instructions
- Knowledge of industry safety practices
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety rules
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Work schedule is generally 6:00am-2:30 pm Monday through Friday but may be revised based on job requirements per specific contracts. Such schedule will be agreed upon by employee and the Company. This position is a non-exempt hourly position and requires consistent start and end times. This position may also require from time to time the need to work unscheduled hours at night or weekends.
